You already know how to originate. The question isn't whether you can produce — it's whether the shop behind you is helping or getting in the way. If you're a licensed loan officer, let's have a quiet conversation about moving your business to Edge Home Finance.

Six Reasons Experienced LOs
Take the Call.

💰

Compensation Is 100% Transparent

No black box, no "let's talk about that later," no number that changes once you're in the door. If you want to see it for yourself with zero commitment, run your own numbers — no conversation required.

🔗

Hundreds of Lenders on Every File

Broker channel means you're not stuck defending one rate sheet. When a file doesn't fit, you shop it — instead of calling your borrower to tell them no.

🏠

Your Name Stays in Front

Your borrowers and your agents work with you, not a corporate 1-800 number. You're the point of contact from application through closing — and you stay that way.

🤝

A Team That Answers the Phone

A small team you know by name, headquartered in Mankato. When a file is on fire at 6pm, you're not filing a ticket into a queue in another time zone — you're talking to someone who can actually move it.

🗺

Room to Grow Your Footprint

Licensed in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Florida, with CCT partner access for borrowers in 46 additional states. If your referral network has moved out of state, your business doesn't have to stop at the border.

🌟

Doors That Are Already Open

Years of volume and relationships have earned our team executive-level access to lenders and solutions. When a file needs an exception, a carve-out, or a program that isn't on the standard shelf, we're not submitting a request into a portal and hoping — we're picking up the phone and reaching someone who can actually say yes. That access is one of the harder things to replicate anywhere else, and it comes with you the day you join.

The Honest Version of the Difference.

Not a pitch — a structural comparison. If you've originated in a bank or retail shop, most of this will already sound familiar.

Edge Home Finance — Broker Channel Retail / Depository
Lender options Hundreds of wholesale lenders. You shop each file to the one that fits. One product shelf and one set of guidelines.
Pricing Compare across lenders on every scenario, then choose. One rate sheet. If it isn't competitive that day, it isn't competitive.
Difficult files Self-employed, bank statement, construction, jumbo, credit-challenged — there's usually somewhere to place it. Outside the box generally means declined.
Who the client knows You. Start to finish, on your name and your reputation. The institution first, the originator second.
Escalation path Executive-level access to lenders and solutions — exceptions and program questions go straight up. Escalate through your manager, then wait.
Support structure A small in-office team you know by name, with executive-level support all the way up. Centralized operations, often in another market.
Marketing An established national brand you can put your name next to. Corporate templates, corporate approval.

Every shop is different and some retail platforms are excellent. This table describes general structural differences between the broker and retail channels, not any specific employer. Your own employment agreement governs what you can and can't do on the way out — review it with your own counsel before making any move.

The Questions You'd Ask If Nobody Was Listening.

These are the ones that actually stop people from making a move. So let's deal with them up front.

Yes, and we treat it that way because we'd want the same. Inquiries go to Brent Busch directly. We don't call references, we don't contact your current employer, we don't post about conversations, and we don't add you to a drip campaign. If you decide it isn't a fit, the conversation ends and that's the end of it.

Your MLO license and NMLS ID belong to you, not your employer. What changes is sponsorship — your current company releases you and the new one sponsors you through NMLS. Timing varies by state and by how quickly your current employer processes the release, so we map the specific timeline for every state you hold before you give notice, not after.

Loans already in process generally stay with the employer whose systems and sponsorship they were originated under. That's the honest answer, and it's the same answer at every shop. What you can control is timing — we plan the move around your pipeline so you're not walking away from work you've already done, and we get your reintroduction to agents and past clients ready before day one.

Relationships you built are relationships you built. That said, what you can take with you in terms of data, lists, and contact information depends entirely on the employment agreement you signed — non-solicits and confidentiality clauses vary widely. We'll talk through the practical side, but you should have your own attorney read your agreement. We won't advise you to breach it, and we won't ask you to.

You'll get specifics on the call — who touches your file, at what stage, and what the support ratio looks like. We're a small team, so the answer is a person you'll know by name rather than a queue. And when a file needs to go higher than our office, it does — our team has executive-level access to lenders and solutions, so escalations don't sit in a queue waiting on a stranger three states away. We'd rather show you the real structure than post a vague promise on a website.

100% transparent. You don't have to take our word for it or sit through a pitch to find out — if you want to view it with no commitment, click here to run your own numbers. Any offer comes from Edge Home Finance, LLC.

Most of the people we talk to aren't ready when they first call. Some circle back months later, some never do, and both outcomes are fine. Twenty minutes to understand what else is out there is cheap insurance against spending another two years somewhere that isn't working.

Talk to Brent. Nobody Else.

Every inquiry on this page goes straight to Brent Busch. Not to a recruiting inbox, not to a regional manager, not to a CRM that pings six people.

  • Your current employer will never hear from us.
  • No reference calls unless and until you say so.
